Description

Shore power for longer remote operations.

Power delivery and communication in one system arrangement

Original photograph cropped to show the tether reel
Original tether-reel photograph, cropped without reconstructing the equipment.

The shore-based supply delivers power and communication to equipment working away from the control station. A high-voltage DC link carries power through the tether; the converter at the equipment reduces it to the required operating voltage.

Why use a shore-powered system?

Underwater equipment, pipe-inspection systems and equipment in mine workings may operate far from a control station. The original product introduction describes high-voltage transmission as a way to reduce transmission loss over that link.

It also identifies the limitations of battery operation: operating time and range depend on battery capacity; output can decline as the battery discharges; and charging introduces downtime. Shore supply provides an alternative for long-duration work.

Remote communication

Long-distance communication, high-rate transmission and stable signals are stated in the original introduction.

Simple deployment

Plug-and-play operation and convenient reel deployment and recovery.

Supply protection

Automatic current limiting when the rated power is exceeded, as described in the product introduction.

Portable construction

PP engineering-plastic case described as lightweight, wear-resistant, shock-resistant and compression-resistant.

Protection rating: IP67 is stated with the connectors correctly connected. The original introduction describes the remote converter housing for wet or underwater equipment; no operating depth or immersion duration is specified.

Technical specifications

Station and converter ratings shown separately

Converter output versions: 24 V DC / 48 V DC. The detailed converter ratings below apply to the 24 V version; the 48 V version needs its own current, power and adjustment specifications.

Maximum output current 31.3 A
Maximum output power 900 W
Efficiency 91%
Weight 1.3 kg
Length 224 mm
Diameter 90 mm

The station rating of 1500 W is maximum peak output. The listed converter dimensions are 224 mm length and 90 mm diameter. Current, maximum power, efficiency and adjustment values in the converter table refer to the supplied 24 V specification.

Separate component ratings: the shore station is specified at 1500 W maximum peak output. The 24 V remote converter is specified at 900 W maximum output. A continuous delivered-power rating is not established by these figures.

Selection & configuration FAQ

What power input does the station accept?

The station is listed for 90–220 V AC input, with a maximum input current of 14 A and maximum input power of 1800 W.

What is the difference between the station and converter outputs?

The station provides a 360 V DC transmission link and is specified at 1500 W maximum peak output. A remote converter supplies the vehicle at either 24 V DC or 48 V DC, depending on the selected version. The supplied detailed converter data — including 900 W maximum output and 31.3 A maximum output current — describe the 24 V version.

What does the IP67 statement cover?

The original statement is conditional on the connectors being correctly connected. The listing does not establish an operating depth or immersion duration for the converter.

Is the output voltage configurable?

Two output versions are available: 24 V DC and 48 V DC. Specify the required version when ordering. The supplied 24 V specification states an adjustment range of −40% to +20%; the corresponding 48 V adjustment and load ratings require their own specification.

What is included with the system?

The supplied packing list includes one shore power station, one Ø90 aluminum-alloy converter in the selected output version, a large four-core waterproof reel, a standard 50 m four-core zero-buoyancy tether, two half-round mounting rings, connecting cables and fittings, a network cable, and a 5 m grounding lead. Expand the packing list above for all 17 line items and quantities. The ROV in the connection illustration is not included in that list.

How long is the standard tether?

The supplied packing list specifies one four-core zero-buoyancy tether with a default length of 50 m. The grounding lead is listed separately at 5 m.

Which converter output version should I choose?

Select the 24 V or 48 V version to match the vehicle’s required DC input. Check the selected converter’s current and power ratings, electrical interface and mounting dimensions. The Ø90 × 224 mm enclosure dimensions and detailed converter ratings on this page come from the 24 V specification.
