Before you order

The five numbers that decide whether a thruster fits your build.

Thrust, voltage, depth rating, current draw and the interface are printed on the product page with the condition each figure was stated under. A figure without its condition cannot be compared with another supplier's.

    Thrust, and how it was measured

    Forward thrust at a stated voltage and propeller. Ask for the same voltage you will run: a thrust figure quoted at a different cell count is not the same thruster.

    Voltage and battery platform

    The cell range the unit was run at. The ESC, the wiring gauge and the fuse all follow from this number, so it is printed on every model page.

  • 03

    Depth rating, and what it covers

    The depth the unit is rated to, together with the sealing and cable arrangement it was stated with. A working depth and a tested depth are not the same thing, and the product page says which one it is.

  • 04

    Current draw and the matching ESC

    Maximum current decides the controller. The ESC that matches each thruster is listed with the thruster, so a motor and its driver are chosen together rather than guessed at.

  • 05

    Interface and mechanical envelope

    Shaft, mounting pattern, propeller diameter and connector. These decide whether the part drops into a vehicle that already exists or needs an adapter.
